Description of Galvalume Steel Coil (Galvalume): Galvalume is a flat-rolled steel sheet coated with aluminum-zinc alloy by a continuous hot-dip process. The nominal alloy composition by weight is 55 % aluminum, 1.6 % silicon, and the balance zinc. The composition of aluminum and zinc, developed by the engineers of Bethlehem Steel (USA) in the mid-60s, offers corrosion resistance and heat reflectivity similar to that of aluminum coated steel, and galvanic protection of bare edges similar to that of zinc coated steel.
